New York city was the perfect landscape for this O.T.R. (old time radio) radio detective - police radio series by CBS. It was one of the first radio series depicting reality in a real police precinct. This radio crime series touches both on the heartwarming and sad aspects of real-life crime.

took place in nine-tenths of a square mile in New York city this area known as the 21st had almost 200,000 people actively in this location and was known to be a police - crime hotspot

Broadcast from July 7th, 1953 through November 1st, 1956 on the CBS network.

Subject: Very realistic

A lot of the professional lingo and protocols are spot-on accurate. I retired from NYPD . No doubt things change, but this show is realistic and informative

The quality is good, some of the earlier recordings have a little "muddy " sound due to the old radio bit rate but still very listenable. The rest is very good

This collection contains the original broadcasts with commercials and is unedited from the original studio recordings
